PTA

Welcome Back, Cooke Cardinals! We hope you all had a wonderful summer! With a new year, I wanted to re-introduce myself and welcome you all to PTA. My name is Beisan Hussein and I am currently Cooke PTA President. My daughter is Nour (almost 7 years old) and she is in Mrs. Stephanie Crane's wonderful class. This is our 5th year at Cooke and we are so happy to be here. I love coming up to Cooke and helping out so whenever you see us around come say HI, we would love it!!

This year PTA has some great plans and events scheduled that we are excited to share with you all. I wanted to extend a big THANK YOU to our board members. I appreciate the time you take out of your day for PTA and am so happy to have such a wonderful team.

Being a PTA member is a great way to support your student and the entire Cooke community. With your PTA membership you:

• Show your student that school matters and that you are invested in their success.
• Partner with the staff at Cooke to make sure your student's school is safe, welcoming, and fun!
• Share in school events and experiences that make your student's school days memorable.
• Connect with other parents/caregivers and become part of a wonderful, powerful advocacy organization.

We strive to support our staff and most importantly, the students and their families throughout the year in the following ways:

• Family involvement experiences such as our annual fundraiser the Walk and Roll, multiple skate nights, and more.
• “Ask” funds and staff stipends that give classrooms the ability to purchase student/class specific learning materials, supplies, games or even equipment!
• The Will McRae fund helps support our Cooke families who are in need.
• We celebrate our amazing staff throughout the year with staff appreciation gifts/surprises.

Cooke PTA wants to be a great resource for the school and we encourage and welcome your involvement! Cooke PTA hosts monthly meetings on relevant topics happening in the school. Attending keeps you more informed and as a member, you have a vote in PTA related decisions! Whether you have an hour a year to pitch-in or an hour a week, we have volunteer opportunities to meet everyone’s busy schedule. We look forward to seeing you!
